Deutsches Historisches Museum
Recently, I have been sleeping so much, at least 8 hrs every day, but wake up still feeling tired and slpy. So irritating. Maybe it's due to the warm weather? Or I was simply tired? Whatever..
Woke up late at 10:30am and played Mahjong on Facebook. LOL. It's fun when u've earned enough money to keep playing. Was bankrupted twice before I could really play! =X
Hong-Linh called me during the Blue Man Show yesterday and asked if I was interested to go Deutsches Historisches Museum (German Historical Museum) today. Of course I was! So I arranged to meet him at 2PM at Alexanderplatz. Was 15 mins late cos Mahjong wouldn't end! =X
He brought his very pro camera with him today. Made him or us look like tourists! hehe. But omg, the pics he sent me were so beautiful!! :DD
Walked to DHM, didn't speak much cos it felt very weird. I spoke much English with Jerry yesterday and today I had to speak in German with Hong-Linh. Hard to switch. hehe :P
DHM is very big! Tells of German history starting from 100 BC! Jerry was telling me yesterday that they learn all these history stuff twice throughout their school life! Compared to SG's history dating back to 1819, we don't have much own history to teach to kids and thus we learn world history. OK, maybe I'm just more interested in the WWs. haha :P
Spent 3.5 hrs there till the museum closed but couldn't even finish half of it! Quite a pity to just breeze through all the modern history stuff. There were so many artefacts, videos, pictures and posters from the WW!! So interesting!!! :D
Went to Neullendorf, as Hong-Linh recommended, for dinner! Lotsa restaurants there. Ate at an Indian restaurant and ordered a dish with "scharf" (spicy) written on it. Thought I might finally eat some real spicy Indian food but once again, it's NOT! Rarrr... However, the food was really nice!! The restaurant was very 'modern-indian' and colourfully decorated as well.
Had to relocate inside the restaurant halfway through our meal due to the strong winds and RAIN!!! Our dinner lasted for about 2 hours. Was talking about his family, the Vietnamese, the Germans, a bit about Singapore, etc. Really enjoyed chatting with him cos he's so animated when he tells stories!! Very nice and interesting guy, totally not the 'Vietnamese' I had always imagined. Also, he's really patient to listen to my broken, english-translated and grammatically very wrong German! :DD
Went home after dinner. Looking back at my weekend, I think it was simply AWESOME! All thanks to my wonderful frenz! :))
