SALSA!!!
Work was nice today. Brought and listened to music all day long cos Jose passed me Elena's headphones!! :D After lunch, Allison suddenly asked what sort of music we listen to... We all have different tastes in music and created a public sharing folder for all our music!!! The Beatles from Allison and Latin/Salsa/Reggaeton music from Jose. NICE! But of cos, my noisy music is my favorite :P
Jose is a part-time salsa teacher, VERY passionate about Salsa and always psycho-ing us to go for his Salsa class. During lunch, he invited me to a Salsa concert at Kulturbrauerei (Translated "culture brewery"). Sounded interesting.... So yea. I went.
The very pretty red-brick building used to be a brewery for beer. Looks like a factory; still have brewery-related names such as bottling department or loading bay etc. Now it's converted into a location for clubs, pubs, cinemas, a supermarket and exhibitions!
Expected to just listen to a live band, hear Salsa music, but in fact, the purpose of going there was to dance Salsa in a Salsa club called SODA!!! Music's nice and hyped up; passionate Spanish/Latin Music... Jose taught me some basic steps, 5 mins later we were doing some turns and 10 mins later he was spinning me round and round and round. OMG! Most of the time I just repeat the basic steps and had no idea what I was doing lar! hahah.. But it was DAMN Fun! HAHA! Reminds me of the time when I was learning Latin American Dancing. Didn't like it cos I was shy at that age :P
but I loved all the turns! :DDD
We were about to leave at 11:30pm when Jose's friends suggested dancing Rueda (a group Salsa dance). So we stayed a little longer. His friends gathered in the less crowded dance floor and started dancing. Cos they were loud, many people and PRO, one couple after another stopped dancing on the dance floor. They were the only ones left and it was DAMN COOL! haha.. Took videos of it...
My first experience with Salsa, Merengue & Bachata. Tiring but VERY INTERESTING! haha.. But I can imagine I must be very ugly dancing cos I dunno what I was doing! :DD
Probably gonna have more contact with Salsa over the next few days/weeks!
