Mini Party at Daniela's

Breakfast Thursdays
Woke up at 8:40am today and thought, oh no, I'm gonna miss the yummy breakfast! What am I refering to? Well, Thursday is the day when we have company breakfast together and it's something I look forward to every week! When u're living alone, u can't afford to buy all the things u wanna eat cos there's an expiry date to them. As I am refraining from buying Nutella (had tooooo much chocolate over the weeks!), my daily breakfast now consists of toast, butter and strawberry jam. Butter and strawberry jam is a heavenly combination cos the strawberry jam here is one word: Wunderbar!

Thursday is a special day, when I get to eat a variety of stuff: bread from the bakery (rather than the usual square ones), 3 or 4 different types of ham, 3 or 4 different types of cheese, orange juice, apples, bananas (these are super ex here in europe!), sometimes cherries or strawberries, tomatoes, different types of spread like strawberry jam, blueberry jam, nutella, butter, margarine and cheese spread. One word: LECKER!!! :D

WHU affinity
After breakfast, I started on my new task! Spent the day doing research on partner companies. Took my time cos I was sleepy and not very interested in doing the work. Checked couchsurfing and found replies from all the requests I've sent out! I sent requests mostly to girls except for one, who posted his occupation as an "internet entrepreneur". This guy replied and guess what, he just graduated from WHU, my exchange uni, last summer! And of cos, he agreed to let us stay over! So exciting! Not that I'm very into my exchange uni, but it's really a big coincidence to meet someone from there, and who is into internet and business as well! This way, we all would have common topics to talk about :D So excited about meeting him now! :D

Panfu Marketing Team
Well, since this post is about our marketing team's mini party, I shall first introduce my colleagues. The company I am working for develops an online game website for kids aged 4-12 years old and is trying to develop it into different languages. While I deal with the english and sometimes german website, my colleagues are responsible for their mother languages, translating texts, helping with customer support and finding partnerships with complementary companies. Here are my colleagues in marketing team:

Daniela from Brazil: in charge of portuguese website, which is not published yet
Jose from Spain: in charge of Spanish website
Elena from Ukraine: in charge of russian website, which is also not published yet
Emmanuelle from France: in charge of French website
Allison from the US: she's there to write her bachelor's thesis but hangs out with us

Private Party!
Besides Allison, who's in the Netherlands for a meeting, my colleagues and I went to Daniela's place for a post-farewell party. Her husband cooked brazilian food "fey-jua-der" (dunno how to spell) which is beans with meat and sausage. There was also rice, salad, potato salad, bread, some fried cheese and chicken balls, cheesecake from Elena, cheese, smoked sausages and sugared almonds from Jose. Emma bought flowers and I bought Eiswein for Daniela. It was a big feast! Jose's Russian galfren, Marija (pronounced "Maria") and Emma's Indian boyfren, Shawn joined us later.

Feast!

It was a truly international gathering; we were all from different countries: Brazil, Germany, Ukraine, France, India, Spain, Russia and of course, Singapore! Drank the famous Caipirinha, ate delicious food and chatted alot! Most of the time we were talking about our company, but it was a great chat with all of them! Never talked so much to them in the office.. hehe

We were talking about Jose's relationship in early years and how he had to sneak out and back to his house before his parents wake up.
Elena asked in disbelief: "U were 26 and ur parents didn't allow u to stay out with ur girlfriend?!"
Jose snapped back with his spanish accent: "You don't know my mother!"
And everyone burst out laughing. Can never forget Jose's reply. HAHA :)

We all left at 12am as we had work tomorrow. Tomorrow is also Emma's last day! And Elena is leaving on tuesday! A series of goodbyes awaits...

International Day :D
