Hello Summer!
While eating breakfast at home this morning, I stumbled upon a newspaper report about Fête de la Musique (Festival of Music) that took place on 21st June, when I was in Düsseldorf! It's a festival which originated in France and now celebrated in many parts of Europe! Bands and musicians gather and put up public performances on stages, in parks or even carparks! The event in Berlin was quite well-received as well! Sounds so exciting, too bad I missed it!
Reading on, I found out that 21st June 2009 (Sunday) marked the astronomical start of Summer and is the longest day of the year, after which the days will get shorter. Cos it's the longest day of the year, many cities celebrate on this day! This explains the "Mid-summer festival" in Düsseldorf! Since Singapore has only one season, I find this so interesting!!! :D
On a sidenote, I think Europe is damn exciting right now, during summer time! So many things going on.. Exciting!!! :DDD
At work, I sent a couchsurfing request! Hopefully she'll reply me soon as the day's approaching!!! Will send more requests tml. hehe. Oh and my boss didn't sit down with me to talk about work today. So I was mostly free. haha. Most prob tml...
After work, I cycled 7.7km to Bismarck U Bahn Station to get the bus tickets. That's further than cycling from Woodlands to Yishun! (check Google Maps) While cycling there, I fell off my bike quite hardly as I tried to cycle up a pavement sideways. Hit the floor with my right palm and it still hurts now :( Hope it's nothing serious!
Before meeting the lady, I was kinda afraid that it'd be a scam. So I asked many questions when I met her, whether the ticket was unique, whether they would check the name, etc. Think she a bit ticked that I dun trust her. But it's my first online transaction, so I can't help it! :P
Slowly made my way back home thereafter, enjoying the sights of Berlin :)
